Soft washing
Roof Soft Washing in Belleair Bluffs
Dark streaks and moss lifted off at low pressure. No blasting, no stripped granules, and the garden covered before we begin.
Those black streaks are alive
The dark streaks running down so many Pinellas roofs are algae. Moss settles on the shaded slopes. Leaves and grit collect in the valleys and hold damp against the shingles.
A pressure washer would shift all of it, and a layer of granules with it. Soft washing uses a gentle spray and a cleaning solution instead, so the growth lets go and the shingle surface stays where it is.
Clean shingles are also easier to read. With the streaks gone, the real condition of the surface shows at a glance.
On the day
Cover up
Plants, beds and anything under the eaves are covered first.
Apply
The roof is sprayed at low pressure, one slope at a time.
Rinse
Loosened growth and debris are rinsed off gently.
Clear up
Anything that lands below is picked up before we go.
Wash only, or wash and treat?
Plenty of roofs get both. The wash clears the surface so the shingle treatment goes onto clean shingles.
A wash deals with
- Black algae streaks
- Moss on shaded slopes
- Leaves and grit in the valleys
- A roof being prepped for treatment
A wash will not fix
- Shingles that have turned brittle
- Loose or missing tabs, which a tune-up handles
- Leaks or storm damage
Gentle by design
Low pressure
- Nothing is blasted, so the granules stay on the shingles.
Plants protected
- Beds and shrubs are covered before any spray goes up.
Priced first
- You know the figure before the ladder comes off the truck.
